Invisalign
What is it?
Invisalign is a clear removable aligner. The material is a plastic designed for use within the mouth.
Being removable it enables one to take them out whilst eating, drinking, attending meetings, taking photos and cleaning of teeth.
How does it works?
Invisalign treatment is digitally planned by Dr. Farooq Ahmed prior to the start of treatment.
Aligners are changed every 1-2 weeks, each aligner guides the teeth and they continue to move.

Ceramic braces
What is it?
Ceramic braces are fixed braces. They are discrete due to the use of the material ceramic.
How does it works?
Ceramic is a clear material, light shines through the brace and therefore makes the brace less visible.
Ceramic braces are glued onto the teeth, a wire connects the ceramic braces together.
Ceramic braces are adjusted every 4-8 weeks to ensure teeth continue to move into position.

Lingual braces
What is it?
Lingual braces are fixed braces behind the teeth. They are not seen as they are straightening teeth.
How does it works?

Metal braces
What is it?
Metal braces are fixed braces. They are robust and efficient in straightening teeth.
How does it works?
Metal braces are glued onto the teeth, a wire connects the metal braces together.
Metal braces are tightened every 4-8 weeks to ensure teeth continue to move into position.


Clear aligners
What is it?
Clear aligners removable aligners. The material is a plastic designed for use within the mouth.
Being removable it enables one to take them out whilst eating, drinking, attending meetings, taking photos and cleaning of teeth.
Clear aligners (Cfastsmiletru) are alternative brands to Invisalign removable aligners.
How does it works?
Clear aligners are digitally planned by Dr Farooq Ahmed prior to the start of treatment.
Aligners are changed every 1-2 weeks, each aligner pushes the teeth and they continue to move.

Retainers
What are they?
Teeth will always want to move back after brace treatment, this can be prevent by long term retainer wear.
Removable retainers
These clear thin mouthguards mainly worn at night. They cover all of the teeth and ensure teeth keep their final position.
Fixed retainers
These are a thin wire glued behind your front teeth. It prevents the front teeth from moving back.
Recommendation?
Where possible, it is recommended for patients to have both types of retainers, removable and fixed.
