About Dr Farooq Ahmed
Dr Farooq Ahmed works as a consultant orthodontist and specialist orthodontist.
Farooq works as a consultant orthodontist and specialist orthodontist. Within his roles Farooq has gained a variety of skills, knowledge and experience. He is able to treat both simple straightening of teeth as well as complex bites both to a very high standard.
He has worked in private practice since 2015, in a variety of practices across the country. He prides himself in effective communication, putting the patient at the centre of their orthodontic journey.
Farooq enjoys being involved in teaching and learning. This has led him to occupy a number of roles in teaching. Currently he is the lead trainer at Northwick Park Hospital, where he trains future orthodontists in established and contemporary techniques.
He contributes to the wider orthodontic community through presentations and scientific publications. His recent outlet has been of an orthodontic podcast, which aims to provide a summary of key information for orthodontists worldwide. Farooq is a committee member of the British Orthodontic Society’s Consultant Orthodontic Group (COG), where he works with colleagues on national matters.
Farooq has a keen interest in charity and he travelled to Gujrat, Pakistan to the first cleft hospital in the region. He helped develop the cleft service to incorporate orthodontic treatment and currently advises the hospital in a consultancy role.
Appointed lead of aligners at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust.
Became examiner for the MFDS dental exam with the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
First appointment as specialist orthodontist in private practice in Manchester at Bosden Farm Dental.
